Dryer Woes

I've never given much thought about having a dryer until recently. Over the past couple of months our dryer started making a loud squeaking noise. Our brother-in-law greased it up a little bit, and it worked great. Then the noise came back. So we called the repair men to come out. They called us that day and told us that they couldn't come out because of some kind of complication with another call. That day the noise stopped, so we thought their cancellation was meant to be. About a month later the noise started again, and then the dryer completely died. As this has been going on, we have been hanging clothes all over the upstairs, across the shower rod, in doorways, on the ironing board, out on the deck, etc. Sometimes we can't shut doors because there are clothes in the way. Our towels are hard and crunchy and some of the clothes are smelly. We have to hide where we hang the underwear so other people don't see them :) Yesterday the dryer repair man came over, and said we need a part for $27 along with the $130 service call fee. He is supposed to come back today to actually fix the dryer. That just might be the best $157 I've ever spent!
