Tree Decorating

Peter and I set out on Sunday to find a tree to cut down. We went to one place, walked through the mud and didn't see anything we liked and then quickly decided that maybe cutting down a tree wasn't such a great idea. We decided just to go over to Westview and support the track team's fundraiser by buying one of their trees. We (I) chose the second tree we looked at, and it was thrown in the car and off we went. When we got home, the kids were shocked by how small the tree was and made sure to let us know many times how much they didn't like it..... :( It's funny how they didn't want to come with us to choose a tree, but sure had tons of advice to give us about what kind of tree is best. Trying to be positive, I told them that this tree was lonely and needed a home and that it would look a lot better once it was decorated. It definitely is the smallest tree we've ever had, as you can see by the picture of Conner and Peter in front of it. There really is a tree behind them if you look closely :)! We had our annual dinner by the tree, decorated it, and then had our hot chocolate while spending time together in front of the tree. The kids now like it - whew!
