Happy 15th Birthday, McKenzie!

I can't believe Kenz is 15!! We celebrated by Gram coming over with beautiful flowers and a gift, going out to Maggie's Buns with Grandma, the Guses stopping by with a gift and personally decorated card from Maggie, going to the mall, and then going out for dinner at Happy Panda. McKenzie's friend came over with a dozen roses and a red velvet cake (her favorite!). She and Kelsey got a Red Box movie and stayed up late eating Kelsey's famous popcorn. She didn't have a party this year, so it was kind of different to celebrate without lots of friends. Our Wisconsin relatives made her feel extra special with a Starbucks card, money, scarf, and Charming Charlie gift card. She is truly blessed!! She is excited to take her permit test, so we will soon have two teenage drivers in our house - watch out, everyone!

Peter and I did the Bridge to Brews walk two weekends ago. We walked across the Fremont Bridge - it was a beautiful view!  We really enjoyed our walk  together. It was the first time I had a beer before 11:00 in the morning!

Easter Weekend at the Beach

We just returned from a wonderful weekend at the beach - celebrating Easter and Peter's birthday :). We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Our house was beautiful, and it overlooked the ocean - the sunset on Saturday night was amazing. Peter enjoyed celebrating his birthday with everyone on Saturday and loved his raspberry poppyseed cake. We played lots of games, spent time on the beach, swam, had drinks at the pub, ate tons of good food, made towers out of Peeps, stayed up late, had great conversations, laughed a lot (Smelder Pits and Vaya con Dios), and enjoyed being with our little cousins. We went on a hike which was quite the experience with a couple of kids who were afraid that we were lost and that we were going to get attacked by a wild animal. I went clamming for the first time (I actually just watched), which was quite an experience. There were thousands of people on the beach at sunrise! It was so fun to watch Jack, Tyee, and Uncle Dan be together. Saturday night was special for me as I got to go on a walk with my cousin who lives in Seattle. The Easter Bunny came on Sunday morning and brought matching t-shirts and treats for all the kids. Thanks, Mom and Dad, for such a fun weekend - you truly are the best!
