First Week of School

We made it through the first week of school....this was a much more challenging start to the school year than previous years. Kelsey started going to a new school and really didn't like the first day. She was pretty sad and wanted to go back to her old school. She went from a school with 100 middle schoolers to a school of almost 1000 kids. She was pretty emotional throughout the first week but started to figure things out a bit and became more comfortable towards the end of the week. It was so hard for us just knowing that she was having a hard time! Conner was sick on the first day of school and felt really bad by the second day and had to stay home. He finished out the rest of the week not feeling so great - kind of a hard start for him, too! McKenzie wasn't crazy about the first day but liked it more and more as the week went on. Even though we had gone shopping a couple of times, and I thought they were all set for clothes, McKenzie informed me that she only had one pair of jeans that she felt like she could wear....so back to the store we went! They also ended up needing more school supplies, too....This week everyone seems to be doing better, and we are starting to get into the swing of things. Even though the schedules are pretty packed, I am working hard to make time to keep exercising, reading my Bible, and to relax each day. Tonight I went on a great walk and enjoyed listening to the wind blowing, seeing the leaves starting to change color, and watching the sunset. It was great to come back home feeling recharged and ready to finish out the night.
